Bad gal Gigi: reports have emerged from the Caribbean that supermodel Gigi Hadid was arrested for drug possession.

Hadid—who was vacationing in Cayman Island with her friends, photographer and creative director Alana O’Herlihy and Leah McCarthy—was reportedly detained by border control at Cayman Island’s leading airport.

According to TMZ, a “small amount of weed and smoking utensils” were found in possession of those travelling Hadid’s private plane, however, with the aircraft in her name, the narcotics and smoking paraphernalia became “her responsibility”.

A local Cayman Island newspaper, Cayman Marl Road, also claimed that Hadid and “her companion” were arrested on “suspicion of Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja”.

They were allegedly taken to a detention center before being processed, detained and eventually released on bail. It’s also claimed that Hadid was fined $1,000 and pleaded ‘not guilty’.

Yet, if you were following the trip on social media, the balmy bikini shots and turquoise waters hinted that there was no trouble in paradise.

Perhaps we should’ve taken Hadid’s warning about being in her ‘girl with the dragon tattoo’ era more seriously, with the temporary Chinese dragon tattoo suggesting that she shares a similar trait for having brushes with the law as the book’s protagonist, Lisbeth Salander.

Following the allegations of the arrest, Hadid’s representatives released a statement denying all culpability, however, it was Hadid’s own subtle response to the drug claim that piqued our interest.

First, the official proceedings. As reported by E!, representatives of Hadid advised that “Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license.” “

“It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island,” they noted.

Hadid took a less is more approach to her response by captioning her Instagram carousel from the trip: “All’s well that ends well”.

McCarthy followed suit with a similar tongue-in-cheek Instagram caption: “Being this cute ? Guilty on all charges.”

We wonder if Hadid has any plans to pack GCDS’ crochet kush bikini on her next girl’s trip…
