We already knew that Gigi Hadid could be considered something of an artist. From the model’s love for art and photography, to her bohemian chic nursery and well-documented enthusiasm for quirky interiors – or even that infamous vodka pasta recipe that she shared last year to global acclaim – it’s clear that Hadid enjoys getting creative.

So perhaps it should come as no surprise that for her turn on this years’ Met Gala red carpet, the 26-year-old mixed her own custom eyeshadow shade. As Hadid’s makeup artist Erin Parsons revealed on her Instagram Story, the model blended her own blue hue, inspired by Prada’s signature colour.

Hadid, who wore an ivory column gown from the house to the event, can be seen in the video picking up different shades from a palette of cream makeup colours and blending them together on her hand.

“@gigihadid is an artist so I put her to work,” Parsons wrote in the caption.  “She custom mixed this ‘Prada’ blue tone.” The video reveals a lovely sky blue shade, which was then used as the base for Hadid’s makeup look.

Hadid’s 60s-inspired look featured the show-stopping blue eyeshadow shade across her lids, with Parsons adding thick black winged liner and fluttery lashes to tie in with Hadid’s cherry Mod-style ponytail.

According to Parsons, she used Maybelline’s Eyestudio Hyper Easy Eyeliner and Tattoo Studio Eyeliner Pencil in Deep Onyx to give Hadid her cat-eye flick, with MAC’s Supermodel Lashes and Maybelline’s Falsies Lash Lift Mascara for extra volume. For brows, Parsons opted for the NARS Brow Perfector in shade Calimyrna.

Parsons chose to keep the rest of Hadid’s look simple so that her icy blue eye look remained the focal point. Using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Multi-Use Concealer and Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder for the model’s base, she then lightly sculpted her features with Westman Atelier’s Face Trace Cream Contour Stick.

To add a touch of glow, Parsons then used Charlotte Tilbury’s ever-popular Beauty Light Wand for radiance, as well as the NARS Blush in classic Orgasm and Charlotte Tilbury’s Film Star Bronze & Glow palette, resulting in one seriously luminous complexion.

Hadid’s nude pout was lined with Maybelline’s Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liner, then filled in with the Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick in the shade Baddest Beige.
