BONDI, AUSTRALIA: Sydney’s fashion industry soaked in the cerulean blue views at Bondi Icebergs on February 15 as they gathered to mark the anticipated release of Georg Jensen’s most interesting collection to date: Arc.

In between the dining room’s new menu – tuna crostinis, blue eye trevalla and a delectable koshihkari risotto – media marvelled at the striking, structural creations in front of them: A solid sterling silver hairclip, heavier than one of Donatella’s embellished barrettes, slung off the table’s centrepiece (and if guests had their way, into their pony-tails). Another, a unique double ring which beautifully wraps around two fingers, was immediately passed around to muse.

In fact, the entire collection is almost moulded to follow the body’s curves and contours, a notion perhaps best represented by the carefully considered Arc necklace (see below). With a century-long dedication to artisan excellence (Georg Jensen himself was a passionate silversmith), the Danish luxury brand’s acclaimed level of craftsmanship is key in shaping and bending the recycled silver into these innovative objects of desire.

“The Arc collection is the result of years of artistic innovation that Georg Jensen is known for,” explains Georg Jensen’s creative director Ragnar Hjartarson. “Sculptural, innovative and unexpected are the terms that best describe this new stunning collection. On one hand, it very much embodies Georg Jensen’s well-defined design language of soft and organic curves. While, on the other hand, it introduces a whole new expression, with unexpected shapes and sharper edges that contrast the minimalist lines.”

“It’s the very shape of every design in the Arc collection, the way it beautifully wraps around the body, that gives life to a deep bond between the two,” he continues. “While each piece is sculptural and stands out, it also creates this sense of intimacy and connection with the body, where the two intertwine.”

Georg Jensen’s Arc Collection launches in Australia on February 15 2023. Its campaign was captured by renowned Danish photographer Casper Sejersen in a bespoke photo series which we have shared below – and of which you can shop from, starting of course with the hair clip.
