After almost three years together, Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund have shockingly split. According to a source for People, it happened several weeks ago after the couple had been reportedly struggling for months. They share a one-year-old son, Rhodes.
“It’s sad, and they are trying their best to co-parent. It’s been hard,” an insider told the publication. Neither party has publicly addressed the breakup.
As the news was confirmed at the weekend, Hedlund was arrested for public intoxication. TMZ reports that the actor was taken into custody in Franklin County in Tennessee Saturday night. He was later released on a $2,100 USD bail and will face court in March.
Roberts and Hedlund first began dating in March 2019 before they welcomed their baby boy in December 2020. See rare photos of the two below.
Another source for People said that at the time, parenting amid the pandemic was proving to be challenging for the pair. “Having a newborn in the pandemic has been a lot harder than either of them expected, but they’re really, really trying their best to figure things out. Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth. He made sure that their house was stocked with things that Emma liked and needed so she felt comfortable. She’s just starting to get back into a more ‘normal’ routine.”
It comes after Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet also went their separate ways in early January after 12 years of dating and four years of marriage. If these two couples can’t seem to figure it out, is there really any hope left for the rest of us?
Momoa and Bonet announced the divorce on social media via a statement. According to following reports, the real reason was due to “different priorities”.
