Emma Roberts might be a busy new mother, but that doesn’t mean she can’t carve out some time to pay homage to her aunt Julia. In a new video to announce the actress’ partnership with FRED Jewelry for the nostalgic Pretty Woman collection, Roberts channelled her aunt’s famous character from the classic film against an idyllic Hollywood backdrop.

“I am so excited to announce that I’m FRED’s Pretty Woman collection ambassador,” Roberts shared of her collaboration with the French jeweller on Instagram. In the accompanying video, Roberts evokes the aesthetic of a number of iconic scenes from the Pretty Woman film, modeling dazzling jewels from the collection as Roy Orbison’s Oh, Pretty Woman plays in the background.

“When our Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverley Hills received a visit in 1990 from the production team of the film Pretty Woman, at the time seeking a jewellery piece for its leading actress, we had no idea that the necklace of ruby and diamond hearts they chose would become a special part of the movie, thanks to Julia Roberts’ legendary burst of laughter and Richard Gere’s elegance. So naturally, we named it Pretty Woman”, Valérie Samuel, Vice-President and Artistic Director of FRED said in a statement.

The playful love-themed collection sees the ‘Pretty Woman necklace’, which fans will recall Julia Roberts’ character wore on her first trip to the opera, reimagined as the foundation of FRED’s collection. According to the maison, the piece features “a river of diamond-studded hearts in the hollow of every one of which lies a second, rubellite heart elegantly positioned off-centre in alternating fashion.”

A heart-within-a-heart, if you will, which also speaks to the duality of Roberts’ role in the series of short videos, as she celebrates her aunt’s legacy. The jewels are delicate yet playful, making them perfect for stacking and representing the joyful nature of both a new muse and a beloved movie coming together.
