While the industry calendar offers plenty of highly-visible moments to debut a new relationship, it’s seems that the majority of Hollywood heavyweights have instead chosen the streets as the opportune location to play out the bourgeoning stages of their romance for the press.
This setting, however, comes with its own set rules, mainly; how does a new A-list couple find their footing in the realm of couple dressing? Do they match each other’s sartorial energy? Or, do they remain firm in their own personal aesthetics, even if their modes of dressing are all together different.
In the case of newly appointed fashion ‘It’ couple Emma Corrin and Rami Malek, they opted for the former by stepping out in Paris in matching Miu Miu looks. Nothing says a soon-to-be power couple quite like dressing in co-ordinated power suits.
Though their romance may be budding, these ensembles is far from provisional. Rather a harmonious display on the merits of complementary dressing; if you want to get the press talking, it serves you best to actually look like you’re attending the same event.
But here in Paris, Corrin and Malek have taken it one step further, with outfits that seem to have been cut for the same cloth. The actors stepped out after attending Min Miu’s post-fashion week soiree in two takes on Saville Row tailoring.
A mode that certainly would appeal to their on-screen counterparts, Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana.
As an official Miu Miu-ite, Corrin looked to a strapless grey smock dress, which she paired with a single breasted black blazer and school-approved thick woollen grey socks and chunky loafers adorned with buckles.
But, because this is a Miuccia Prada creation, the dress and coat featured raw-hem white accents that gave the appearance of a crisp white shirt frisked into view.
Like the hottest back-to-school advertisement, Malek complimented Corrin’s look by donning a cropped tuxedo jacket crafted from the same grey fabric as their dress, finishing the look with a black undershirt, relaxed trousers and lacquered dress shoes.
With Mrs. Prada herself ordaining this couple’s relationship, it’s clear that things will be heating up between the pair. And no, we’re not just referring to their fire street style silhouettes.
