It’s only been a day since Emily Ratajkowski announced she was expecting her first child with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, and we’ve already got a glimpse at what the models’ maternity style will look like. After weeks of concealing her growing bump in oversized puffer jackets and sweaters, Ratajkowksi made a bold statement in figure-hugging bodycon and high-heeled red boots while out in her native New York City.

The dress, which features a cut-out midriff detail, is by sustainable US-based label Aya Muse, while the knee-skimming boots are by Stuart Weitzman. The look is a killer combination of EmRata staples that proves the model-turned-actress will be continuing to embrace her minimalism-meets-sex-appeal aesthetic while she’s expecting.

Rumours had been swirling that the 29-year-old was pregnant for months. The first clue was her Instagram feed’s uncharacteristic lack of half-nude selfies; the second was the aforementioned baggy clothing she has been constantly papped in for the last three months. Ratajowski’s stylist Emma Morrison told Vogue that the look was planned ahead of time—a bold statement after months of intentionally concealing the bump.

This dress specifically, Morrison revealed, was a nod to a ’90s i-D shoot starring Amber Valletta. “It was totally bodycon dresses with cutouts,” she said. Ratajkowski announced her pregnancy with a digital Vogue cover and accompanying video, shot by her friend Lena Dunham. In the accompanying piece she penned for the magazine, she revealed that she and her husband don’t plan on revealing the gender of their child. “I like the idea of forcing as few gender stereotypes on my child as possible,” she wrote.

Congratulations to the happy couple—and here’s to many more figure-hugging ensembles before the blessed baby arrives.
