GRAZIA USA cover girl Elizabeth Olsen and late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon have spoofed the plotline of WandaVision in a funny new skit that journeys through the decades of talk-show history.

Fans of the Marvel show (now streaming on Disney +) will be well familiar with Olsen’s character; the troubled, reality-bending witch named Wanda Maximoff. The weird and wonderful TV series riffs on the tropes of different American sitcoms and eras – its parodic elements and cheesy one-liners a huge departure from the action-packed spectacle that is the Avengers.

In the new clip, Olsen appears as herself as a guest on Fallon’s show – but, like WandaVision, she does so multiple times across multiple eras. In one clip reminiscent of a scene between Wanda and Queen of the Westview cul-de-sac Dottie Jones, a mysterious low voice coming out of Fallon’s microphone begins asking him, “Jimmy, who’s doing this to you Jimmy?”

Like Wanda, it’s unclear how much Fallon’s character is controlling the footage that makes it live to air, and just as Marvel’s new retro frontier shows a woman in mourning, Fallon’s version shows a talk show host mourning his pre-pandemic life.

“Jimmy you have to stop. I know the present is scary and we all want COVID to be over but you can’t just run from your problems,” Olsen tells Fallon int he skit.

“I know you’re trying to cope but you can’t keep controlling all of this.”

In a twist as wild as the cliffhangers in WandaVision, Kathryn Hahn intercepts the now present-day interview admitting it was her that was controlling the live feed all along. End scene.

“I do think I got to live out some sort of childhood dream doing [WandaVision],” Olsen told GRAZIA USA in February. “The highlight was really getting to tell a story about these superhero individuals told in different decades of American sitcoms, trying to match the tone of those sitcoms in order to help orate the story. But keep it playful and fun.”
