All hail Dua Lipa, queen of quarantine hair, who has coloured hers not once but three times since she entered isolation. The Future Nostalgia singer is at home in London with boyfriend (and uncle to be) Anwar Hadid and is keeping a diary on Instagram of everything the pair are up to. Lipa is technically supposed to be doing press for her recently released album, so has been looking for other ways to keep herself occupied.
Aside from World of Warcraft, beauty endeavours have been on the cards, including the aforementioned hair colouring process. While naturally dark, Lipa currently has what us beauty folk call the top deck – which is blonde on top with dark beneath (exactly like the Cadbury chocolate of the same name). Typically it would make any contemporary hair dresser shudder, but on Lipa, it’s a sweet, retrospective success.
Her latest shade (seen above and below) is a bright strawberry hue – a washed out pinky-red set against the black bottom half. Lipa captioned the post with a bunch of strawberry emojis, a fitting analogy for her new hue.
Her previous shade was this baby pink. Anwar lent a hand, as all good boyfriends should, applying what is probably a rinse or creative colour. Lipa captioned it “🌸Quarantine diaries🌸 – this weeks experiment… pink hair.”
The resulting shade was a bubblegum dream – the hair we all wanted to 13 years old.
Finally, Lipa also experimented with a zingy shade of sherbet orange. An unlikely colour combination with black but a sweet look nonetheless. This one is dubbed “orangina quarantina🍊”. Apt. Here’s to wondering what shade comes next.
