Is there nothing this Grammy-winning artist can’t do? Today The Hollywood Reporter announced Dua Lipa would join the cast of upcoming spy thriller, Argylle. Directed by Matthew Vaughn (the man behind Kingsman: The Secret Service) the artist will provide the title track and score to the film, as well as appear on the big screen.

The “Future Nostalgia” pop star will star alongside Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena and Samuel L. Jackson.

Based on novel of the same name written by Ellie Conway, Argylle will follow the world’s greatest spy as he travels around the globe. According to the publication the film will begin shooting this August in Europe before moving to other locations in the UK and the US. The script will be written by Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman) and produced by Marv.

“When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s,” said Vaughn. “This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”

The 25-year-old artist has been catapulted to world wide fame in recent years. Lipa counts the likes of Elton John and Kylie Minogue as fans. Earlier this year the singer was named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2021 with Minogue commissioned to pen a letter to Lipa.

“Dua Lipa is a shining star, blazing a dazzling trail through the pop cosmos,” the Australian artist wrote. “Just under four years ago, she released the first of her two albums. Today, she is dancing hand in hand with the zeitgeist, having carved with laser-like precision her place in the cultural landscape.”

“Her achievements are all the more remarkable given that she is 25 years of age. She’s kind, cool and smart. She’s a bona fide pop behemoth. And I, like millions of others, look forward to more, and even more, from La Lipa,” Minogue continued.
