Any skin enthusiast will know that proper cleansing is an integral practice when it comes to a soft, healthy, purified complexion.

A great formulation will do two things: dissolve makeup, skincare and sunscreen, whilst also undoing environmental damage, prepping the skin for treatment products to come.

The Formula:

Dior Beauty’s just-launched La Mousse Off/On Mousse Cleanser does all of this and more. Composed of 90% natural-origin ingredients, the star inclusion is Water Lily from Dior’s new Latour-Marliac garden in Lot-et-Garonne (a sacred place that once served as inspiration for Impressionist painter Claude Monet).

A delicate aqueous flower, the Water Lily extract boosts natural detoxification processes in the skin, ridding it of pollutants and heavy metals. Combined with micellae technology, the velvety cream traps all oily residues (including sebum, makeup and sunscreen), leaving the skin soft, supple and perfectly clean.

The Face:

For such a thoughtful and luxurious launch, it makes sense that Dior Beauty has tapped British athlete and tennis champion Emma Raducanu as the face. Powerful and supremely talented, Raducanu embodies what it is to represent the younger generation of a Dior woman — after winning her first grand slam at the US Open in 2021, she’s affirmed her status as a young prodigy, balancing glamour with grace both on and off the court.

Our Thoughts on La Mousse Off/On:

Personally, I love the ritual of a beautiful cleansing routine — not only is it enjoyable, but I genuinely notice a difference in skin health when I take time to massage in a nourishing formula, such as Dior’s La Mousse Off/On Cleanser.

This one initially applies as a dense cream, so I’ve been massaging it into dry skin for a minute before emulsifying with just a small amount of water. This creates a silky foam that glides over the face with ease, dissolving all traces of makeup, skincare, sunscreen and other environmental debris. It’s also worth noting the cleanser has an incredible fragrance: a soft, powdery floral redolence that makes the entire user experience that much more enjoyable.

Truthfully, a single application is plenty to remove all traces of the day (even my mascara was completely gone), but La Mousse also lends itself well to double cleansing — simply use it twice, or pair with an oil before hand.

Overall, I think it’s brilliant! It feels heavenly, has a beautiful texture and does its job at purifying the skin while simultaneously replenishing the barrier. It removes makeup efficiently and doesn’t strip the skin — in fact, it’s proven to boost its environmental defences, making it an excellent choice for those living in an urban environment.
