Early this morning in Paris, the Dior Spring Summer 2022 Ready To Wear Collection runway show took place in the Tuileries Garden — held in a wonderland-like set that resembled something you’d find through the looking glass. It was a bright, bold display of sartorial power for the French designer — one that was joy-sparking, nostalgic and significant.
However clothing aside, Dior Beauty Creative and Image Director Peter Philips did the most makeup-wise, crafting an intricate double-liner wing on each model. Described by Philips as a “graphic but light, in a fresh and cheeky spirit with a sixties vibe” the look was extremely technical (something Philips is renowned for) but also subtle, fun and complimentary to the collection by Creative Director Maria Grazia Churi.
To achieve the eye look, Philips used the following:
Trace A DOUBLE LINE OF EYELINER USING DIORSHOW ON STAGE LINER 096 VINYL BLACK, SEPARATED BY A LINE OF DIORSHOW KHÔL 529 BEIGE KHÔL. keep the EYELIDS NATURAL IN MONO COULEUR COUTURE 434 GRÈGE VELVET, 443 CASHMERE MATTE, 481 PONCHO SATIN, 530 TULLE SATIN, OR 573 NUDE DRESS SATIN (SHADES CHOSEN DEPENDING ON COMPLEXION).
The remainder of the look was simple, fresh and clean: sculpted brows, natural but luminous skin and a hydrated lip courtesy of the Rouge Dior Satin Lip Balm in shade 000.
Paired with sleek, simplistic hair that suited individual texture, it was a pared-back but still interesting beauty look that really did capture the spirit of the 60s, only with a modern, French-girl twist.
