Most celebrities go the extra mile to ensure their curated personal brand is received as relatable by the masses. See: Bella Hadid claiming to eat pizza daily and using phrases like, “homeboy could…get it”.

Dakota Johnson, on the other hand, has adopted an unfazed approach to honesty, making her candidness the most approachable in Hollywood. Her unperturbed attitude and immunity to the typical trivialities of the industry have left many a chaotic moment, including the perennially entertaining Ellen DeGeneres reckoning.

However, her latest interview has cemented why she’s legions ahead in, as Julia Fox said, getting the vibe. Speaking to WSJ as part of the publication’s “My Monday Mornings” series, Johnson shared her frank approach to self-care. A method that we’ve now taken as gospel and are trying to emulate as often as possible.

Rather than pandering products or expensive wellness tools, Johnson shared that her main concern was sleep. “I’m not functional if I get less than 10,” the 34-year-old claimed about her sleep habits before adding, “I can easily go 14 hours.”

She continued to remark that sleep was her “number one priority in life,” revealing the lengths she goes to ensure her full night of slumber. “I don’t have a regular [wake-up] time. It depends on what’s happening in my life,” she said. “If I’m not working, if I have a day off on a Monday, then I will sleep as long as I can.”

On top of her 14 hours, Johnson also noted she will drop everything to have a bath, should she start to feel anxious. “I will get in a bathtub at any moment, any time of the day,” she added. “If in the middle of the day, I’m like, ‘Oh God, what is this world?’ I’ll get in the bathtub. I find water really grounding.”

Johnson also meditates twice daily, explaining, “I meditate every day, twice a day. I do transcendental meditation. I’ve been really into breathwork recently and that’s been helping me a lot with anxiety.”

Naturally, Johnson’s brazen comments have piqued the interest of netizens.

If Ottessa Moshfegh is looking to cast someone as the protagonist in her film adaption of My Year Of Rest And Relaxation, we think she just found her leading lady in Dakota Johnson. Bravo, Dakota, bravo.
