At 75 years of age, Cher just made her debut on TikTok serving not one, but two chic looks. Dare I say it, this could be more iconic than Jennifer Aniston’s arrival to Instagram (even if she did crash the platform). After Cher surprised fans on social media overnight, the celebrated singer and actress has already accumulated 425,000 followers and 848,900 likes.
“Hi, it’s me, the great and powerful Cher and I’m on TikTok,” she declared in a sweeping blonde wig. In the second take Cher opted for her signature black locks, “Hi, it’s me, Cher, on TikTok.”
“Guess who I am,” she said in a third clip. “I’m on TikTok.”
For one last time, Cher concluded, “Hi, of course you know who I am. I was gonna introduce myself, but no. Happy Pride Month to everybody in the community that I love, and that means you.”
At the time of publishing the video has been viewed 3.1 million times.

Pride Month (and Cher) are truly the gifts that keep on giving. Miley Cyrus released a snippet of her forthcoming Stand By You Pride Special concert in Nashville this week. On stage she introduced six drag queens for a live rendition of Cher’s own 1998 hit, “Believe”. The queer country idols included Brothers Osborne and Orville Peck and allies Maren Morris, Mickey Guyton and Little Big Town.
The full film will be released streaming service, Peacock on June 25. An apt finale for the June celebrations.
Earlier this month, Lady Gaga took to Instagram to show her pride – after all, she’s the brilliant mind behind gay anthem, “Born This Way” – in rainbow Versace.
In an accompanying caption, Gaga wrote, “Versace has always been a leader. Since Gianni, Donatella, Allegra, and still now they have celebrated the beautiful colors of love we have within us to offer each other. We were all more different, and different is beautiful. Thank you Donatella for supporting LGBTQ+ mental health and the Born This Way tenth anniversary.”
