And here’s us thinking the world cup fever was over, then along comes Beyoncé to drag us back into full European football hysteria again with the most fabulously embellished strip.
The Fly Emirates logo and fabric might be authentic, but the extreme level of jewel application steps things as far away from the stereotypical American soccer mom as you could get. (Then again, this is Bey, natch.)

Fast forward a few weeks, and Rita Ora’s patchwork football jersey dress – also reworking of famous club Paris Saint Germain’s jersey – gives us fashion dejavu.
Reference coincidence? We think not. Both pieces are by design superstar-on-the-rise Christelle Kocher, who is artistic director of Chanel’s specialist couture atelier Maison Lemarié. (Hot tip: remember her name now.)

Founded in 2014, her personal label Koché is fast gathering fans amongst fashion’s street-cool set, many of whom are her friends. (Note: she regularly casts her edgy associates as models for her shows and lookbooks). Think tracksuits in shiny and/or luxe fabrics, satirical urban motifs, wild colour blocking and adornments that are extra to the extreme.
Given Kocher’s expert skills in traditional couture tailoring and connection to European youth culture, Koché is one of the fastest-rising urban streetwear designer labels in the world right now. Explains why Bey and Ora are already in the know, right?
While none of Kocher’s pieces are particularly affordable (the brand sits in the Off-White or Acne cash category), who knows what brand extensions or high-street collaborations might happen in future. Be ready…
