If there’s one duo we’re prepared to take a skincare recommendation from, it’s decorated actress Cate Blanchett and iconic beauty industry stalwart (and Princess Diana’s former makeup artist) Mary Greenwell. The pair are good friends and often work together – a dream setting we’d happily insert ourselves in.

Yesterday, Mary posted a photo of a certain blue-eyed-blonde cloaked in two different sheet masks (one for under eyes, one for the face) and a surgical mask – whom fans in the comments section pointed out to be Cate. Mary explained that her “friend” (Cate) had the genius idea to keep the mesh insert from her mask attached so she could pop her surgical mask over the top without too much mess. A “brilliant idea” according to Mary, and we have to say we agree.

“HOW do you wear masks and masks?!! ☺️ #wearyourmask

Problem solved!

After joyfully receiving the fabulous masks, my friend had the BRILLIANT idea of keeping the gauze on so the face mask would not stick to the COVID mask, and would therefore stay in place….. LOVE this.
Now that is what I call one clever lady 😍 😊”

Cate is actually wearing two masks from 111Skin, a high tech brand founded by renowned Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Yannis Alexandrides MD. Under the eyes, she’s wearing the Sub-Zero De-Puffing mask, a cooling gel pad that helps to firm fine lines and assist with puffiness. Across the rest of the face, it’s the Y Theorem Biocellulose mask, formulated with the brand’s signature NAC Y² complex to hydrate, strengthen and reinforce the skin’s barrier. Both are available at Mecca Cosmetica (*adds to cart*).
