It seems Billie Eilish has really been enjoying switching up her look recently. After sticking with her signature black locks and striking slime green roots for several years, the singer opted for a complete hair transformation earlier this year, bleaching her locks platinum blonde and snipping her lengths into a rounded cut with 70s-inspired layers. And now, not even six months later, Eilish has changed things up yet again – this time by lopping off most of her locks to reveal a shaggy bob.

Posting to her Instagram page, Eilish showcased the Debbie Harry-esque chop, which features a similar rounded shape to her most recent change but with a decidedly wispier finish. Eilish also appears to have kept her full bangs, lending an effortless, rock and roll edge to the classic bob cut.

The choppy layers that Eilish has had snipped throughout the style appear feathered, giving the fresh look an overall softer appearance than her last cut. The Happier Than Ever performer certainly appeared pleased with her ‘bowl bob’ hair, posting on her Instagram Stories, “I love it” and sharing multiple pics showcasing the relaxed style on her page.

She also revealed via Instagram Stories that her shorter locks were inspired in part by her mother. Eilish added images to her Instagram Story showing throwback photos of her mama, Maggie Baird, rocking a similar style in the past, adding the caption, “Like my mama”.

The textured, shaggy style has proven popular amongst celebrities this year, including Miley Cyrus and Kaia Gerber. However Eilish’s take, with her shorter lengths and soft fringe, offers an entirely new interpretation of the trend – we’re here for it.
