Fans of Billie Eilish (so pretty much everyone) would recall that at the 2021 Met Gala in September last year, the artist only agreed to wear Oscar de la Renta if the luxury brand promised to stop selling fur pieces. “It was an honor to wear this dress knowing that going forward oscar de la renta will be completely fur-free!!!!” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

For just her second appearance at the annual soirée, the Grammy-winning singer continued to champion the environment with an upcycled gown by her long-time collaborators at Gucci. “We didn’t have to waste a bunch of stuff, and I wanted to be as eco-friendly as possible,” she said on the Vogue red carpet livestream.

Channelling this year’s theme ‘Gilded Glamour’, Eilish wore a champagne and turquoise corset gown adorned with a lilac flower and green lace sleeves. The hair chameleon opted for her deep brunette locks layered into a choppy updo.

Her second year as a guest comes after Eilish served as a co-host of the Met Gala in 2021 alongside Naomi Osaka, Timothée Chalamet and Amanda Gorman. She was rumoured to have also performed during the dinner.
