Now that we’ve all, millennial or not, allowed pink to creep back into our grown-up wardrobe sensibilities throughout 2017, it’s far less of a stretch to embrace this season’s ‘hard candy on steroids’ style spin.

From marshmallow pompoms to poppy pastel plastic finishes and cute candy-striped materials, fashion’s candy crush is abundantly clear. Fendi’s plastic studs look more like all-sorts than armour, while Antwerp-based EK Thongprasert’s clever silicone necklaces are lighter than cotton floss.

As for Sophia Webster’s new season shoes? Well, they’re every serious fashion-loving girl’s just desserts. Take note people: candy gimmicks are the new cool.
