The Australian label’s whimsical new collection, aptly dubbed The Optimist, spans floaty floral dresses to printed shirts, tailored culottes, crocheted textures and “it” bags-of-the-moment, all with a modern and vacation-inspired silhouette. Oroton, of course, has undergone a rebirth lately under creative director Sophie Holt who joined the brand in 2018. The much-loved label’s stand-alone runway show at Australian Fashion Week in June signalled a makeover from streamlined leatherwear to fully-fledged seasonal fashion.
As a collection, Oroton’s dreamy The Optimist looks ahead to a summer of socialising, fun, and dressing the part, as well. It’s the kind of attire made for a sun-filled boat ride on the harbour with girlfriends, wearing the Poppy print set – and a champagne flute in one hand, Gretel carry-all tote in the other.
