As another fashion month comes to a close, we’re pedalling back through some of the standout beauty moments that made their way into our saved folder. There was biting cherry gloss at Miu Miu (another viral moment for the French fan favourite), fluffy hair at Hermes and spider lashes at Chanel — a Twiggy-ish look that we’re immediately obsessed with. So enjoy these (and more!) Fall 2022 hair and makeup looks below.
CLUMPY LASHES
At Chanel, the biggest beauty takeaway was a nod to the swinging ’60s by way of a clumpy lash. To emulate at home, apply several coats of your favourite volumising mascara before pinching the ends together gently with your fingertips. Keep it fresh with strawberry-hued blush and a lick of lipgloss.
FRIZZ
The humidity hasn’t been kind this summer, so it’s comforting to know that frizz was embraced on the runway by both Hermes and Louis Vuitton. At Hermes, curls were stretched apart with a soft bristle brush, whereas Louis Vuitton showed off ringlets that looked like they’d been caught in a rain shower. Consider this permission to step away from the leave-in conditioner.
’80S BLUE
Expect to see this vivid shade of cobalt everywhere this season, largely in part due to this stellar display of makeup wizardry at Saint Laurent. Go big with an all-out powdery smokey eye, or keep it subtle with a lick of liner.
CHERRY GLOSS
High maintenance, yes! But high impact? Also yes! Much like the Miu Miu mini skirt, this slick cherry red gloss is an impractical but extremely covetable look from everyone’s favourite designer right now. Try layering a bright red stain underneath a tinted gloss for extra sheen.
FACIAL PIERCINGS
This season is not the first time Givenchy has sent models down the runway with faux facial piercings (in 2015, Riccardo Tisci tasked Pat McGrath with a brief for heavy, ornate jewels), but it is the first time it feels doable at home. With the rise in stick-on face decals (we see you, Euphoria), we’re predicting this trend might be here to stay. If your aesthetic is more prim than punkish, try pearls along the lash line, instead.
