Sorry to Bother You is Armie Hammer’s latest film and is in select Australian cinemas now.  In the dark comedy, directed by Boots Riley, the actor plays corrupt CEO Steve Lift who offers the main character telemarketer Cassius Green a huge salary. Hammer’s Steve is a huge cocaine addict. So how do the movie’s depict drug-taking? Well, Hammer gave Variety a little insight. And unlike most actors, he was lucky not to have to snort any white powder.

“It was like B12, but they had a hose that went down my shirt, into my hand,” Hammer said. “Then I had the wrapped up $100 bill with the hose that went into that, so I didn’t even have to snort anything.”

Jonah Hill famously had to snort so much fake cocaine on the set of 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street that he ended up in hospital. “I had to be hospitalised,” Hill revealed on Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons in 2016. “If you ingest that much matter into your lungs you’ll get very sick, and we were literally doing fake coke for, like, seven months, every day.”

“I never had more vitamin D in my entire life; I could have lifted a car over my f–king head,” Hill continued. “It’s interesting pretending to be on drugs. I’ll use music. I’ll make a playlist for every scene, so I’ll try to make, like, music that [makes me feel] jittery and chaotic … and then just drink a ton of coffee and Red Bull.”
