When Armie Hammer was accused of sexual assault and cannibalism in January of 2020, little did we know that the world would uncover a long list of sordid fantasies and, a very dark family history. Following a lengthy Vanity Fair exposé titled The Fall of Armie Hammer: A Family Saga of Sex, Money, Drugs, and Betrayal, we’ve received a first look at a docuseries from Discovery+ which will illustrate the shocking revelations.
The network released a trailer to the upcoming series House of Hammer this week with a three-minute snippet of upcoming interviews and a sneak peek at evidence – even a terrifying voice note allegedly sent by Hammer. The disgraced actor’s exes, Courtney Vucekovich and Julia Morrison, recall their harrowing experiences through tears. The 35-year-old was also the subject of an LAPD investigation.
The three-part series will also feature an interview from Hammer’s aunt Casey Hammer. She is the granddaughter of the late Armand Hammer, a wealthy businessman who dealt in oil and was later exposed of money laundering and funding Soviet Union espionage. “I’m about to reveal the dark, twisted secrets of the Hammer family,” Casey says in the trailer.
Hammer and his legal team have maintained his innocence. In a statement made to Page Six in March 2021, Hammer’s attorney Andrew Brettler said, “From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with” every sexual partner “have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.”
Hammer is currently residing in the Cayman Islands to remain close to ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two children. House of Hammer premiers on Discovery+ on September 2. For Australian viewers stay tuned for more information.
