Can we call it an iso-engagement? Ariana Grande has announced her engagement to boyfriend Dalton Gomez in a series of sweet snaps posted to her Instagram account. The singer, who reportedly began dating Gomez back in January, captioned the shots, ‘Forever n then some’.
As a source told People, the pair “couldn’t be happier, they’re just so excited.” The loved-up pictures show the couple cuddling up together, as well as a look at Grande’s new engagement ring – and all we can say is wow, that’s one hell of a sparkler. The stunning design features a sizeable oval-cut diamond with a gold band and the unique addition of a pearl.
In the most adorable meet-cute ever, the 27-year-old is said to have met real estate broker Gomez when she was looking for a house. “When she saw him, she immediately thought he was cute and very good-looking, and she asked her team to set up an in-person meeting with him,” an insider told Us. “Ariana fell very hard for Dalton shortly after they met.”
When the coronavirus pandemic hit, many new relationships were faced with a similar conundrum – take the plunge and self-isolate together, or choose to social distance separately? Those that went for the former route found their romance accelerated thanks to the large amount of time spent together, so perhaps that played a part in the 34+35 singer’s quickie engagement.
Grande, however, is no stranger to a swift engagement. The pop superstar found herself betrothed to actor and comedian Pete Davidson almost immediately after the pair first met in 2018. Sadly, five months later they had parted ways, inspiring Grande to pen her now-infamous breakup track Thank U, Next.
In contrast, Grande’s sensual new album Positions is said to be inspired by her time with 25-year-old Dalton. Congrats to the happy couple and here’s hoping our girl has finally found her match!
