The Venice Film Festival is in full swing, with celebrities back to their scheduled boat rides to the red carpet in top-to-toe designer gowns, following the event taking a hiatus due to Covid-19. Everyone from Kirsten Dunst to Zendaya, Penelope Cruz and Timothee Chalamet have made an appearance in the Italian city, but perhaps no one broke the internet more than when Oscar Isaac decided to take a whiff of his co-star Jessica Chastain’s underarms in the middle of the red carpet:

Though Isaac and Chastain’s horny moment set everyone off, not least those in lockdown in Australia and New Zealand desperate to touch—or smell?—another human, the hot pair’s chemistry stops there: they’re both happily married (to other people).
But while we’re here, there are rumours of another on-screen couple potentially taking their romance into the real world: that of Matt Smith and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The Crown actor and The Queen’s Gambit actress were attending the festival together for the premiere of their new film, in Last Night In Soho. On both nights, Taylor-Joy looked like a real-life princess, wearing an embellished pink dress by Rodarte on Saturday, before wearing top-to-toe fuchsia pink Dior on Sunday.
On the way to the event, photos show the co-stars sitting closely in their boat, with Smith’s arms draped around Taylor-Joy as she leans into him. Later, Taylor-Joy is pictured fixing Smith’s hair. Instantly, Twitter went wild with people speculating about a romance between the two, who, to be fair, do look pretty cute together:

But though it would be a Netflix drama couple made in heaven, Taylor-Joy was later spotted kissing her musician boyfriend Malcolm McRae on their hotel balcony, quashing the rumours in the process.
According to reports, Taylor-Joy and McRae have been dating since at least April this year, with The Sun reporting in June that McRae “has practically moved into [Taylor-Joy’s] L.A. home.”
“They are inseparable and spend all of their time together,” a source close to Taylor-Joy reportedly told the outlet. “Her schedule is really hectic because she is so in demand following The Queen’s Gambit, but he is always there for her.”
The source continued: “Malcolm is practically living with her at her home in L.A. now, and they spend every night together.”
Meanwhile, Smith is seemingly single, following the end of his five-year relationship with British actress Lily James.
