As the world endures a historic heatwave throughout the Northern Hemisphere celebrities are opting for bikinis and little linen sets. Amal Clooney on the other hand, has opted for shift dresses and glitter as she holidays throughout the Italian region of Lake Como. At the weekend, she proved why her collection of evening wear is unparalleled. So much so that there is a Twitter account @Amal_Style1 dedicated to ID-ing her looks.
Earlier on the weekend, the Lebanese-American lawyer was photographed wearing a Maison Valentino printed shift dress as she navigated the waterfront pier. She paired her look with a wide brim beige hat, white crossbody bag and wedge-heel sandals (indeed the style is back). Just a few days later, Clooney appeared to swap resort wear for rhinestones as she attended a gala dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo with husband George in tow.
For the glamorous soirée, Clooney wore a white sleeveless high-neck 16Arlington mini dress which was emblazoned in tiny rhinestones and a feathered hem. A modern take on a sixties silhouette. She paired the look with a gold box clutch, gold hoop earrings and vintage style kitten heels.

It was a stunning sequel to another 16Arlington gown Clooney wore at the London premiere of her husband’s recent movie The Tender Bar last October. The white floor-length gown was also emblazoned in glittery detail which was paired with a feather shawl.
Other ensembles from Clooney’s European wardrobe include a sequin mini slip dress from Florence-based designer Ermanno Scervino, and a one-shouldered hot pink mini dress from Stella McCartney when she was photographed arriving in France last month.
Simply breathtaking.
