One of the perks of being a celebrity-slash-influencer is that you get to borrow the kind of outfits and accessories most people only dream of for red carpet soirees. And every now and again, fashion editors get to share a little of the loan love too.
That’s exactly what happened at last week when Sydney’s style set stepped out for a party hosted by luxe brand Bulgari, to celebrate a new spin on its most iconic jewellery piece, the B.Zero1 Ring originally designed by famed architect Zaha Hadid to celebrate the new millennium almost two decades ago.

Guests like recent GRAZIA print edition cover star Sarah Ellen, Jessica Mauboy, Pia Muehlenbeck, and Wentworth stars Nicole da Silva and Danielle Cormack, all wore pieces from the B.zero1, Serpenti and Divas’ Dream collections. Bags featuring the brand’s signature bejewelled ‘Serpenti’ snake head draped over the shoulders of dozens more VIP guests, including GRAZIA’s fashion director Charlotte Stokes, They All Hate Us founders Elle Ferguson and Tash Sefton, and yours truly.
Likewise, guests at the Italian-themed party (a nod to Bulgari’s Roman heritage) were able to try on pieces from the new jewellery collection, which is a more fluid and organic-looking take on the original B.Zero1 design that has evolved over the past 17 years.
In fact, the stunning Calyx building in the centre of Sydney’s Botanical Gardens was chosen as the venue because of its resemblance to the Colosseum, which inspired the late Hadid for the original design. A gif photo booth, DJ and gelato cart put a modern spin on events.
For a night at least the night meant we could dream of owning a piece of the iconic Bulgari dream (in my case, of the hot pink and star-embellished variety). The great news is you can too now the collection’s finally available in store. Be tempted.
