Cardi B is pregnant with her third child! The Grammy Award-winning artist shared the news of her expected arrival with her 166 million Instagram followers on August 2. She posed in a bump-baring red maxi dress and feather coat against the New York skyline. The announcement came hours after her divorce from her rapper husband Offset became known to the public. But rather than dwelling on what she’s losing with the breakdown of her relationship, the musician is focusing on what she’s gained instead.
“With every ending comes a new beginning,” the 31-year-old wrote in the caption of her post. Addressing the growing bundle of joy, the performer added: “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!” Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Cephus née Almánzar, noted that her baby reminded her that she can have it all and doesn’t have to choose between her life, love and passion.
“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and tests lying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through,” she continued. Cardi ended the note on a high note by claiming her love for her child and excitement for the baby to witness what they helped her accomplish and “pushed me to do”.
The singer didn’t address if Offset is the father. They currently share two children, a daughter named Kulture, 6, and a son named Wave, 2. Earlier this year, their on-again-off-again relationship appeared to be strong after the Migos band member showered Cardi B with half a million dollars worth of Hermès Birkin bags for her birthday.
It was rumoured Cardi B filed for divorce after rumours that Offset cheated on her began to circulate, though this was not addressed by a representative for the star who confirmed the separation to the press. “They’ve grown apart,” a source told Page Six. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else. This is something she wants to do.”
