Just when we thought the summer of concertgoers throwing ludicrous objects at musicians mid-performance was over, one attendee at Cardi B’s Las Vegas show has taken it upon themselves to ensure that celebrities will remain the target of foolish flying objects as long as they remain onstage.
However, little did this one seemingly overzealous reveller know, they chose the wrong target, with Cardi B clapping back by throwing something back at the assailant.
While performing at Drai’s Beachclub at The Cromwell Hotel & Casino, the 30-year-old rapper and singer was doused in an unidentified liquid from an audience member who flung their half-drunk drink at the Grammy Award-winner.
Without missing a beat, Cardi B delivered a delicious-to-watch (from the comfort of our home and behind a screen) response by retaliating in kind. Within milliseconds, Cardi B took the microphone in her hand and lurched it at the drink thrower with full force. Indeed, the mic drop of the year.
In the video, which you can see below, Cardi B then begins to seemingly cuss the fan out while her security attempts to de-escalate the situation and remove the fan from the venue.

While we’re not condoning violence in any way, the now-viral footage of the altercation is a sight to behold, especially since Cardi B is the first celebrity to fully stand up for herself after being attacked during a performance.
We wonder what P!NK’s concerts would’ve been like if she threw the ashes of someone’s deceased mother or the wheel of cheese back at the fans who thought it ok to hurl these items at her?
Coincidentally, the exact moment the liquid was launched at Cardi was during her performance of her breakout single “Bodak Yellow”.
The lyrics she was singing during the incident we’re incredibly foreshadowing, and how all fans can expect to be treated if they continue this baffling behaviour of throwing things at celebrities: “If I see you and I don’t speak, that means I don’t f*** with you.”
We didn’t need any further proof that Cardi was not the one to mess with, but if anyone was considering it, take this as a sign to rethink your actions.
