Bella Hadid has pledged her full support to Ariana Grande. Re-posting the popstar’s emotional appeal for kindness to her own Instagram grid, the model urged her 58.5 million followers – many of whom probably follow Grande as well – to really think before they pass judgement on another person’s body.

“You never know what someone is dealing with mentally or physically. Disease or depression. Grief or heartache. You just don’t, and you will never know until you walk in a day in their shoes,” Hadid strongly captioned the post. “Instead of unsolicited advice or opinions, judgement or aggression, just try to offer a helping hand and be kind.”

One day ago, Grande posted a three-minute and 17-second video to TikTok where she addressed the cyber vitriol she was receiving about her current body shape – and comparisons made to her former body shape which she says was the result of poor diet, antidepressants, and a generally low point in her life.

“I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a little bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to be paid such close attention to,” Grande began.

“There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful,” she continued. “I know personally, for me, the body you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body.”

Hadid, who recently opened up about her own struggles not usually visible via the portal of Instagram, doubled down.

“There is always a reason for the way people look/feel, so try to be soft, especially when you don’t know someone or what they’ve been through. Instagram is not real and we need to look deeper and consciously remind ourselves that each of us are just human beings trying our best.

“So next time someone wants to write a nasty article to make fun, or a mean comment to get some likes, just remember that” she added. “If someone wants to talk badly about another person, remove yourself from the conversation. It’s so much cooler to be kind.”

The world is hard enough. Don’t be the person responsible for making someone’s day more challenging.
