The Beauty Looks At NYFW Signal The Return Of High Voltage, Unapologetic Glamour
Blame Euphoria
New York Fashion Week is back for the Fall 2022 season and after a tough few months, the creative energy is once again reverberating from the backstage beauty teams.
Call it the Euphoria effect, but it seems most hair and makeup teams at NYFW were bored with the minimal, hyperreal aesthetic that’s dominated the runway in recent seasons.
Perhaps our renewed optimism post-Omicron is manifesting in a return to glamour, in all its unapologetic glory. Here’s to embracing OTT hair and makeup once again, with some of GRAZIA‘s favourite high voltage looks from NYFW.
Eckhaus Latta: All-Over Glitter
Glitter ventured beyond just the lips or eyes at Eckhaus Latta this season, in a look that’s ready-made for the indie sleaze revival.
Jason Wu: Pop Art Eyes
A palette of smoke and steel played host to a fizzy pop of yellow shadow in the inner corners of the eyes at Jason Wu.
Sergio Hudson: XXL Ponytails
Va-va-voom curls were pulled back into an XXL low ponytail that fanned out and fell to the waist.
Christian Siriano: Powder Blue Wings
The powder blue eyeshadow with graphic winged liner seen at Christian Siriano recalled Gigi Hadid’s custom Met Gala eye makeup.
Bronx And Banco: High Shine
Mirrorball shimmer brought drama back to the eyes again, thanks to metallic silver eyeshadow.
Tia Adeola: Razor Brows
Brows are dialling down after several years in the spotlight, with the arches at Tia Adola modelled after an artistic pin-up style.
