Watch the stars roll up at Chanel’s pre-fall 2019 after-party
The mid-Eastern quadrant of Central Park in New York City – known as Rumsey Playfield – was transformed into a runway today. And that was after Chanel showed it’s pre-Fall collection, The Métiers d’art, at the Met Museum down the road in Manhattan. Stars including Janelle Monae, Margot Robbie, Marion Cotillard, Sophia Coppola, Julianne Moore, Teresa Palmer, Christy Turlington and Lily Rose Depp turned out at Chanel’s after-party in a fashion force so fierce, Lagerfeld needn’t have worried about showing at all should Shanghai have called and cancelled it (a la Dolce & Gabbana last week).
Chanel ambassador and Australian actress Robbie – who just doesn’t seem to feel the New York bite – wore no coat, while every other name garnered their bare arms with some sort of sleeve. Granted Robbie would be walking the short distance from the show-to-a-private-car and then from-a-private-car-to-the after-party, and cloaking a coat would be a waste of champagne time and a spoiler to this dream black smock.
