What style swimsuits will the fashion set be wearing next Australian summer? If the group swimwear brand show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia this morning is any indication, low backs have replaced taught abs as the sexiest skin to have on show.

All four of the labels that showcased capsules on the Swim 2019 runway featured multiple one-pieces with low-low scooped back detailing. Retro-feel brand Camp Cove Swim covered theirs in cute pastel prints, while Fella’s were neutral with a low bodice and thin straps. DUSKII added flamenco ruffles to its deep V-neck and at Pam Pam gingham has been reworked into a new sexy incarnation.

Not one for supportless Baywatch-style swim apparel? The other key trend to permeate all four shows was barely there bikini tops teamed with a matching high-waisted brief. GRAZIA’s favourite look? This one by Camp Cove Swim, which is manufactured on the South Coast of New South Wales.

While it’s unlikely the thigh-high boot + bikini styling for Pam Pam will ever be a thing, it did sum up the overall mood pervading this show: anything goes.
