Katy Perry has been added to the lineup of what is set to be an epic night of performances at the Grammys on February 12.

The Recording Academy made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday, confirming Perry will join Beyonce, Adele, John Legend, The Weeknd and more.

The news essentially affirms that the release of Katy’s fourth studio album is coming very soon. The Roar singer, who hasn’t released a record since Prism in 2013 (she released Rise as a single last year), has been teasing new music in interviews and on social media for months, so she’ll likely use the Grammys performance attention to announce her new work.

Despite Drake, Kanye West and Justin Bieber boycotting the Grammys this year, their presence is unlikely to be missed with so much going on. Not only is Beyonce, pregnant with twins, reported to be taking to the stage, but Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are rumoured to be making their red carpet debut as a couple.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards is being held in Los Angeles on February 12 (starting February 13 in the AM AEST) and will be hosted by James Corden.
