Forgot that inside that icon there’s still a young girl who got driven to school in her dad’s Rolls Royce. We’re of course referring to the inimitable Victoria Beckham, who proved today to be a fan of Charli XCX’s brat album by donning the sickly chartreuse shade for her most recent outing.
While out in New York City with her freshly-cropped bob, the former pop star fused the hue of the season with her polished aesthetic, elevating the garish tone with a midi dress of her own design. The piece featured a body-conscious skirt that stopped at the style savant’s toned calves, a plunging V-neck and softly draped sleeve.
Charli XCX might’ve declared the sartorial staples for the record to be a strappy white singlet and a BIC lighter, but it’s apparent a more refined interpretation of the trend has found a foothold in fashion.
Case in point, the lime green hat Julia Fox paired with her Zac Posen for GAP summer dress, Emily Ratajkowski’s vintage Tom Ford-era Gucci dress from the 2024 Venice Film Festival and even the gown she sent Bella Hadid down the runway in during her Spring/Summer 2023 runway collection presentation.
This isn’t Beckham’s most risqué outfit, however. There’s obviously her matching purple wedding look with David Beckham or the array of LBD on-stage silhouettes from her Spice Girls heyday. But we’d argue that her most memorable look was when she walked around Paris Fashion Week on crutches and a single Alaïa heel after she broke her foot She’s everywhere, she’s so Victoria.
However, proving she’s a 365 Posh Girl, Beckham also subtly gave us a masterclass in festive season dressing by pairing the green ensemble with glossy red shoes. (If you haven’t seen it already take this as a moment to revisit Beckham’s hilariously relatable Christmas card from years past.) No one does the holidays quite like her, and we can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us as we count down to 2025.
