Many have proposed their varied iterations of the modern ‘little black dress,’ but trust Taylor Russell to blow them out of the water with her subversive take. Turning the classic LBD on its head, the actress arrived at the opening of Casa Loewe in Seoul, South Korea, in the party dress to end all party dresses, courtesy of Loewe.

Plucked from Jonathan Anderson’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection—which debuted during Paris Fashion Week in February—the dress was practically made for Russell, who has been an ambassador for the Spanish luxury brand since 20222.

Contributing to its intrigue, the floor-length gown features a fluffy halter-neck collar that is weaved with leather, almost mimicking the look of a jacket wrapped around one’s neck. Its shearling black skirt hugged the actress’ figure while also revealing some skin with a knee-high split along the side. And when she turned around, the Bones and All star revealed a bare back, with some thin straps interlaced across.

Russell, 30, who is recently single following a reported split from Harry Styles, has also reverted back to her chic pixie crop. For glam, she kept things warm and minimal, opting for a burnt-orange glossy lip and subtle winged eye.

Without any jewels to distract the eye, Russell ensured her dress did all the talking. Her footwear of choice was also minimalist—she opted for Loewe’s ‘Comic’ shoe, which boasts a collapsible silhouette that can be worn as a pump or mule.

Though she’s showcased time and time again that the red carpet is her domain, Russell’s latest look proves that she’s not going to play it safe anytime soon, even when it comes to rocking a ‘classic’ little black dress.
