When looking for a new skincare brand or beauty product to add to our beloved skincare routine, you may see the words “sustainable beauty” and “clean beauty,” but what exactly are the best brands that embody this?
Look no further, as we have done the research for you! Below are 5 sustainable beauty brands we are truly loving right now.
From Blue Heron local botanical ingredients, to Bybi’s sugar packaging (yes, the products are packaged in sugar and no, it will not melt in the sun, but more on this below), to Dew Mighty’s solidified serum, as well as French Farmacie and Keys Soulcare’s recyclable glass bottles, you cannot go wrong with these sustainable and clean beauty brands.
Clean and Recyclable
Who knew skincare product bottles could be reusable and recyclable? Keys Soulcare and French Farmacie have designed their products to be returned to the earth, one way or another! Dermatology tested, these women-run brands are activists for the planet, as they give donations to 1% for the Planet, The Happy Org and the National Forest Foundation.
You may have heard of Alicia Keys. Her skincare brand, Keys Soulcare, is made of entirely natural products making it considered to be clean beauty. With transparency in mind, Keys Soulcare releases all the ingredients of its products, even stating on the website that the only animal products used is beeswax and honey.
Keys avoids harmful ingredients such as parabens, sulfates, lead, mercury and more. Each product features a detailed list of ingredients, such as The Comfort Balm, being made of Camellia seed oil, rose of Jericho, avocado oil, shea butter and carrot seed oil. Each product comes in a glass bottle, making it easily recyclable and reusable.

Keys Soulcare donates a portion of its profits to The Happy Org, which empowers the youth through wellness education, in addition to teaming up with the National Forest Foundation to plant 10,000 trees in the US.
French Farmacie is a new skincare brand founded by entrepreneur Trica Marlowe. After a difficult battle with infertility, Marlowe poured her energy into creating clean, effortless beauty that is not only good for you, but good for the planet too.
With the beauty industry producing more than 120 billion units of plastic each year, Marlowe spoke to GRAZIA USA about why it was important for French Farmacie to do their part, saying, “I experienced the impact of the plastic pollution crisis firsthand during a trip to Indonesia.”
She continued, “I saw how marginalized communities are disproportionately impacted by ocean plastic. That moment affirmed my desire to be part of the solution.”
All of French Farmacie’s product is created with vegan, cruelty-free, and organic ingredients. French Farmacie also prioritizes the working conditions through every step of the process beginning with the farming partners.
Each product is manufactured with recycled glass and secondary packaging, meaning it was used once before and all repurposed.
French Farmacie is also a member of 1% for the Planet, which means they donate 1% of their annual revenue to this foundation that inspires businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions.

All Natural, Zero Waste
Blue Heron Botanicals and Dew Mighty are taking sustainable beauty to a new level through their zero-waste, all natural ingredient policy. Located in Northern California, Blue Heron sources all natural ingredients from local farms and vendors. Dew Mighty was founded in 2020 with the intention of eliminating unnecessary packaging, reducing carbon footprint and creating serum in bar form (Yes — waterless, too!).
Blue Heron Botanicals harvests local ingredients from Nor Cal such as Sweet Orange, Grapefruit and Lemon essential oils, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Jojoba oil, and beeswax. Similar to Keys, they clearly list every ingredient of the products, including where the ingredients came from.
The packaging is designed to be 100% biodegradable and home compostable. For the products that come in glass jars and tins, it is encouraged to repurpose or recycle once you use the last of your Blue Heron Botanicals product. In addition to this, all of the paper products that BHB uses is 100% post-consumer paper, meaning they are recycling what has already been recycled!
If you aren’t convinced enough, with every purchase of a Blue Heron Botanical product, the brand will donate a portion of the sales to the Billion Baby Sea Turtles initiative. Save the environment and a baby sea turtle all while saving your skin!
Dew Mighty is making strides in a zero waste world through their Bloom Jelly Serum. What is it, exactly? Unlike your traditional serum in a pump or dropper bottle, this serum comes in bar form. The idea was to eliminate all packaging, besides the stainless steel, recyclable tin it can be stored in. The brand focuses on both science and beauty, taking a deeper look on what is truly ending up in a landfill.
The Bloom serum bar also requires zero water to activate. Yes — it literally is a magic bar.
With all natural ingredients clearly listed, (such as Jasmine oil, Chamomile, and more) Dew Mighty only wants to offer your skin the best.

Sweet and Simple
Bybi is saying bye-bye to plastic with their all natural, sugar made packaging. Yes, you read that right. They package all of their products with sugar. To break it down as simply as possible, the sugarcane plant is crushed up for its high concentrate sugar juice, which we use in our everyday lives. Once the juice is extracted, the rest of the sugarcane plant is used to produce ethanol, and the result is a fossil-fuel free plastic that is also completely recyclable.

In addition to eliminating waste of the sugarcane plant, Bybi also looks to eliminate food waste using fruit to create their products. Food waste is accountable for 6% of global greenhouse emissions. Stopping waste at any point in the supply chain has an incredibly positive effect. Their Strawberry Booster oil serum is made from strawberry seed oil. As stated on their website, their suppliers work closely with juice manufacturers to get the seeds of strawberries before they are juiced. The seeds then go through a sterilization and extraction process to later be turned into your beloved serum.
And Bybi does not stop there. Every item is packaged with Grasspaper, which is made from the pulp of grass and uses up to 80% less energy to produce, unlike typical wood-based packaging.
All of the brands listed are making great strides in creating a more sustainable world, specifically in the beauty industry, where oftentimes, many unknown ingredients and plastic packaging cause more harm than good to both you and the environment. To quote Dew Mighty, “There are two homes to consider: Our Body and Our Planet.”
