Oprah Winfrey is an iconic figure among the most popular personalities in the United States. The 70-something-year-old is famous not only for her television show but also for her many fluctuations in weight over the years.

She has openly admitted to struggling with her weight throughout her life, trying countless diets, only to repeatedly face the yo-yo effect. At her heaviest, she says, she weighed 107 kg.

However, during a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Oprah revealed a slimmer physique, toned arms, and a leaner look than usual. Her fans were already aware, as she had shared that she lost 18 kg in the past few months. So, what has been her journey to achieve and maintain her dream figure?

“Ending The Shame”

“I’m completely done with the shame—both from others and from myself,” she admitted, as quoted by She Finds. Though Oprah had previously made headlines for denying ever using weight-loss drugs, she eventually revealed in December 2023 that she had tried them. She mentioned that her transformation became possible with the help of injections, along with more frequent hikes and workouts.

“When I first heard about weight-loss medication in 2021,” she explained, “I was undergoing knee surgery, and I thought, ‘I have to do it myself because taking the medication feels like an easy way out.'”

Motivated to take care of her body, the businesswoman shared how the surgery sparked her commitment to leading a more dynamic and energetic life. Now, she follows several healthy habits, including eating her last meal at 4 p.m., drinking at least three liters of water daily, and using the Weight Watchers point system, all while incorporating regular hiking into her routine.

You can follow these habits too: It has already been shown that eating your last meal before 5 p.m. benefits digestion, sleep, and weight management. Keeping dinner light is crucial. Staying hydrated and engaging in physical activity are equally important for maintaining good health and managing weight.

Focusing on Meal Timing: Oprah’s New Approach

Oprah also explained her changed perspective on weight-loss medications. She now sees them as a tool to avoid the yo-yo effect, referring to her weight fluctuations over the years.

“The fact that there’s an approved prescription to manage weight and stay healthier, during my lifetime, feels like relief, redemption, a gift,” she emphasized.

She further revealed to the Daily Mail that she’s just 3 kg away from her target weight of 72 kg. However, she stressed that her goal for a healthier body goes beyond the numbers on a scale.
