If you’re an avid social media user, you’ve undoubtedly experienced the “digital apocalypse,” a term christened by Twitter users (and those who migrated to the app to feel some social satisfaction) on Monday. However, while Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook were all down for a little over five hours, cult it-girl brand Miaou hosted an intimate soiree at La Chope des Artistes on rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin during Paris Fashion Week.
In celebration of the new holiday collection and SSENSE collaboration, which launches tomorrow (mark your calendars), and a guest list including Julia Fox, Joan Smalls, Paloma Elsesser, Richie Shazaam, Jasmine Daniels, Luna Blaize, and other friends of the brand, mingling IRL wasn’t something that was too forced for the evening’s crowd. It’s just like Miaou designer and founder Alexia Elker to have a great time no matter what and guests followed suit.

All enjoyed a five-course French-African dinner by chef Diadié Diombana and wrapped with a poire pochee à l’hibiscus (aka hibiscus pear) dessert. As the night moved into the cocktail hour portion, Elkaim and friends took to their feet, dancing to an upbeat Euro-American mashup playlist. Like the music, European and American press and influencers chatted the night away, bonding over the mutual social lockdown. Everyone enjoyed time meeting new friends and socializing with old friends that they barely noticed Instagram was back on the grid a few hours into the night.
The night was quintessentially Miaou — fun, lively, and in the moment. Although social media was obsolete for most of the night, naturally, there had to be a photographer on-site to capture all the memories (and stunning looks available soon) to flood the feed once back. Ahead, check out the rest of the photos from Miaou’s Paris Fashion Week soiree.
