Milan Fashion Week, a global fashion epicenter once again showcased the industry’s most innovative and daring designs for Spring/Summer 2025. This season, designers experimented with a blend of classic and contemporary elements, resulting in a collection of trends that are both timeless and trendsetting. Here are the top eight trends that emerged from the MFW SS25 runways.

MFW SS25 FABRIC TRENDS:

Fringe

Fringe, a perennial favorite, made a triumphant return to the Milan runways. From delicate tassels on dresses to dramatic fringe accents on coats, designers embraced this bohemian element in a variety of styles.

Embellishments

Embellishments were a key theme throughout the week. Designers adorned garments with sequins, beads, embroidery, and appliqués, creating pieces that were both luxurious and eye-catching.

Sheer

Sheer fabrics were another prominent trend. From delicate overlays on skirts to fully transparent dresses, designers explored the interplay of transparency and opacity in a variety of ways.

MFW SS25 COLOR TRENDS:

Pastels

Soft and dreamy pastels were a continued theme and a prominent color trend in Milan, departing from the additional vibrant hues seen in other fashion capitals. Designers showcased delicate shades of pink, buttery yellow, lavender, and mint green in a variety of silhouettes.

Neutrals

Neutral tones, including all shades of browns, beiges, and whites, provided a timeless foundation for many of the collections. These versatile colors can be easily mixed and matched with other pieces in your wardrobe, making them a seasonal staple worth shopping for this spring.

MFW SS25 SILHOUETTE TRENDS:

Voluminous Silos

Designers embraced a sense of drama with voluminous silhouettes. From oversized puff sleeves to bubble-hemmed skirts and dresses, these exaggerated shapes added a touch of opulence to the collections.

Micro Shorts

Hot pants made a bold statement on the Milan runways. These ultra-short bottoms were paired with everything from fitted sweaters to oversized coats, creating a playful and youthful look.

Menswear-Inspired Tailoring

The blurring of lines between menswear and womenswear continued in Milan. Tailored suits, blazers, and trousers were reimagined for women in a variety of styles, from classic to edgy.
