New York Fashion Week SS25 shaped up to be a season of surprises, and one emerging designer who’s poised to make a major splash in the industry is Maisie Schloss.
Her brand, Maisie Wilen, is known for bold patterns, unique textiles, and wearable silhouettes, and has quickly become a favorite among celebrities, with the likes of Bella Hadid, Rihanna, and Kim Kardashian wearing her designs.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Schloss launched her brand in 2019 after studying Fashion Design at Parsons. Her designs, which are often described as “basics for maximalists,” seamlessly blend playful prints and futuristic elements.
Maisie Wilen’s SS25 collection was released digitally as part of the CFDA calendar on September 6, and delivered as another standout. In an exclusive interview with GRAZIA USA, Schloss gave us a glimpse into her creative process and shared her insights on the current state of the fashion industry.

“All of our bold patterns and unique textiles are rooted in highly wearable, flattering silhouettes,” Schloss lets us in on. “My goal is to always create pieces our customers will be able to wear often and feel great in.”
As an independent designer, Schloss has navigated the challenges and rewards of running her own business. When asked for advice for aspiring designers, she emphasizes the importance of starting small and thoughtfully. “Don’t worry about being big right away,” she advises.

Schloss’ brand often incorporates futuristic elements, and she attributes her ability to stay inspired and relevant to the rapidly changing fashion landscape itself. “This season I departed from my usual exclusively digital processes to focus on materially-driven and hand-crafted pieces,” she shares. “My future collections will be influenced by my new process of experimental material sourcing as a driving influence for design.”
One of Schloss’ personal favorite pieces from her latest SS25 collection is the silver beaded skirt. “I found those vintage metal beads at a deadstock trim supplier and immediately knew I had to incorporate them into the collection somehow,” she explains. “I love how the skirt contrasts the heavy metal and yarn against the simple black chiffon backing.”

As for what she hopes readers will take away from her collection? Schloss says, “I hope a new context for Maisie Wilen is received and that readers will understand new styling potential for our printed basics.”
With her unique blend of creativity, business acumen, and unwavering passion — and as she continues to push the boundaries of fashion — it’s clear that Maisie Schloss is a force to be reckoned with.
