Kim Kardashian testified in a Paris courtroom this week against the armed robbers who stole $9 million (USD) worth of jewellery from her in 2016. Yet, before she even stepped into the courtroom, her ensemble made a defiant statement.
The Skims founder arrived at the Palais de Justice this Tuesday decked out in sparkling diamonds. Front and centre was a $3 million (USD) Samer Halimeh necklace—a head-turning piece that featured 80 diamonds that totalled 52.17 carats, including a 10.13-carat pear-shaped stone.
Adding to the extravagance, she wore an $8,000 (USD) Briony Raymond pave diamond ear cuff, a diamond anklet recently gifted by daughter North West, and a 22-carat diamond ring. Page Six previously reported that the piece was purchased with the insurance payout following the theft of her original 20-carat ring, which was gifted to her by her now ex-husband, Kanye West.

The sleek backdrop for the jewels was a vintage John Galliano suit dress with flared hip detailing and exaggerated shoulders. She paired the black buttoned-up look with Alaïa sunglasses and black Saint Laurent slingback heels.
She was accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner, who also put a high-fashion twist on courtroom style.

The mogul had been attending Paris Fashion Week in October of 2016, when the original incident occurred, where she was tied up and held at gunpoint by a group of armed robbers. Kardashian has been transparent about the trauma she suffered following the event and how it impacted her life, leading her to up her privacy and not be seen wearing anything “flashy” for some time after.
Now appearing in court, unapologetically decked out in diamonds, the reality star is undoubtedly sending a message loud and clear to her alleged offenders: she won’t give them any power in how she lives her life.

The trial is expected to continue until May 23rd, when more details will emerge. We can also expect the upcoming season of The Kardashians to delve into the matter.
