Kendall Jenner has emerged as somewhat of a beauty chameleon of late. While the supermodel has never shied away from transforming her look for a runway show, campaign or even a Halloween costume, her personal style typically errs on the more muted side, complementing her quiet luxury fashion choices. Yet, back in September, the 29-year-old shocked us all by lightening her signature brunette tresses to a ‘rich girl’ shade of blonde inspired by none other than 90s minimalist street style icon, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. Now, Jenner has surprised us once again by unveiling an even more unlikely cut: a cropped bob. Are being ‘krissed’?
Indeed, the spirits mogul took to her 290 million Instagram followers a mere three months later to showcase her sleek, chin-grazing bob. The style was parted in the middle and featured a delicate, editorial edge reminiscent of Linda Evangilista’s iconic grown-out pixie. (The latter was captured by legendary fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh in 1988 in a must-see series.) Fittingly, Jenner documented the chop in a photo shoot of her own—a black-and-white risqué image of Kendall posed topless, lensed by Mert and Marcus.
Given the nature of the pictures, we wouldn’t blame you for thinking Jenner wore a wig or even darkened her hair in the name of fashion à la her Kris Jenner-inspired cut from Calvin Klein’s Fall 24 campaign.
But there was no trick at play here with the 818 Tequila founder taking her bob out for dinner at Los Angeles’ famed Sushi Park restaurant. The star kept things casual in a lacquered khaki leather bomber, black trousers and a cream baseball cap. What’s more appropriate than organising a girl’s night out the day after you get your hair done? Celebrities—they’re just like us!
