What better way to bring the bold, voluptuous scent of Dior Beauty’s latest fragrance phenomenon, J’adore Intense, to life than with an epic house party? Young Hollywood, content creators, and beauty stars from TikTokers to editors hit the soirée at a fabulous fortress high in The Hills on March 9 to celebrate the new creation, and the festivities lasted well into the night.
A Sexy Setting
The event was not your typical perfume party. Upon entering the venue — a brutalist mansion in Beverly Hills’ Trousdale Estates — guests came upon three enormous, downed chandeliers, a whimsical take on the campaign setting of the Palace of Versailles, the first clue that this new interpretation of the famed French fashion house’s J’adore franchise breaks boundaries in a big way.
It was a feast for the senses. Revelers, including Jurnee Smollett, Skai Jackson, Alexandra Shipp, and Audrey Nuna, were treated to a set by French DJ duo Doppelganger Paris, spinning disco beats from a platform set in the middle of an infinity pool overlooking the twinkling lights of Los Angeles, while Grammy Award-winning pianist Brian Kennedy tickled the ivories. Lounging on beige sofas, guests nibbled on light bites while sipping free-flowing Riunart champagne and rose-infused tequila cocktails.
In the Club
As the clock struck 10:00 PM, the aptly named Club J’adore downstairs welcomed partiers to a darkly lit space graced with a dance floor, fog machine, and Kitty Ca$h on the decks. True to form, super attractive gents passed trays stacked with house party staple Jello shots and coveted late-night fantasy food, including burgers, fries, and next-level fried chicken nuggets studded with bumps of caviar.
Behind the Fragrance
The decadence mirrored the scent at the center of the celebration, Dior perfume creation director Francis Kurkdjian’s revamped J’adore Intense, a syrupy floral-gourmand scent inspired by brand face Rihanna. “It is rare for me to compose a fragrance with a specific woman in mind,” Kurkdjian admits. But “for J’adore Intense, however, I made an exception and created this scent based on an image of truly contemporary ultra-femininity.”
