Imagine a secluded refuge in Ibiza’s countryside, far from the bustling crowds and neon lights; a place where you can truly unwind and experience the island’s authentic charm. That’s Casa Maca, a boutique hotel that’s quickly becoming a favorite among affluent and luxury travelers.

Casa Maca is a testament to the island’s enduring charm. Originally a 300-year-old farmhouse, it has been meticulously restored and transformed into a boutique hotel that exudes both rustic elegance and contemporary sophistication. The Anadon family, known for their iconic Café Mambo, acquired Casa Maca with the vision of creating a sanctuary where guests could experience the true essence of Ibiza. Their love for the island’s rich heritage and vibrant culture is evident in every detail of the property.

The hotel’s architecture, a beautiful fusion of traditional Ibizan elements and modern aesthetics, seamlessly blends into the surrounding landscape.

Beyond its culinary delights, Casa Maca offers a multitude of opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. The hotel’s swimming pool is an idyllic oasis where guests can unwind and soak up the sun. Some of my favorite moments in Ibiza were those lying around by Casa Maca’s pool with the warm Spanish sun on my skin and a cold drink in hand. It is truly a haven for peace and serenity wrapped up in a luxury location.

The hotel’s secluded positioning provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Ibiza’s nightlife. It’s the perfect place to reconnect with nature and find inner peace. For those seeking a more active experience, there are also opportunities for guided hikes, yoga classes, and in-room massages.

Located in the heart of San Antonio Bay, Las Mimosas isn’t just another boutique hotel; it’s a pulsating expression of the Anadon family’s love for Ibiza. Having grown up spending time at the original Las Mimosas with their grandparents, Christian and Alan Anadon (better known as the DJ Mambo Brothers) poured their passion into this complete renovation. Stepping inside Las Mimosas feels like stepping into a cherished family villa, reimagined for the modern traveler.

Serene Spanish Suites

Las Mimosas offers an escape from the island’s pulsating nightlife while remaining close to the action. The 11 junior suites and six spacious suites are retreats of sophisticated comfort. Imagine waking up to the gentle hum of the bay, then stepping onto your private terrace to soak in the sun-drenched views. My suite had its own private rooftop terrace overlooking the hotel pool, leaving me feeling like the queen of Ibiza every morning (as we all should, right?).

The neutral tones and natural fabrics inside the suites create a calming atmosphere, complemented by the thoughtful touches — an espresso machine for a perfect morning pick-me-up, The Grown Alchemist toiletries for a touch of luxury, and a Marshall speaker to set the mood.

A Symphony of Sun, Socializing, and Style

Las Mimosas truly comes alive around the stunning social scene of a pool. Here, you can choose to relax on a sun lounger or Balinese bed while soaking up the Ibiza sunshine. Las Mimosas aims to embrace those traveling for unique experiences. During my stay, I had the pleasure of experiencing the Beat Hotel pop-up event, which took place at the end of September. The poolside transformed into a vibrant gathering place, filled with the pulsing beats of guest DJs, delicious barbecues, and invigorating well-being sessions (shoutout to the morning meditation). It was the perfect encapsulation of Ibiza’s free-spirit: a fusion of relaxation, creativity, and social connection — making Las Mimosas a standout among the competition.

No Ibiza experience is complete without indulging in its culinary scene — and Las Mimosas doesn’t disappoint. Their Italian restaurant, Mimo’s, is a destination in itself. The open layout creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for savoring a menu of fresh antipasti, handmade pastas, and pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. For an unforgettable end to your day, head to the rooftop bar and watch the sun dip below the horizon as you sip on perfectly crafted cocktails.

It’s a place where the past and present seamlessly blend, creating a unique and unforgettable experience of both tranquility and excitement. What truly sets Las Mimosas apart is its friendly and attentive staff. From the welcoming reception to the poolside service, there’s a sense of genuine care and attention to detail. Where to Eat and Drink:

Ibiza’s culinary scene has evolved in recent years, with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and innovative dishes. From traditional Ibizan dishes to international cuisine, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Popular restaurants that we love on the island include Sa Capella, Teatro Pereyra, and Cala Gracioneta, among many others.

Sa Capella: A Culinary Journey Through Time

Nestled amidst the picturesque hills above San Antonio, Sa Capella is a journey through time and a testament to Ibiza’s rich culinary heritage. Originally a 16th-century chapel, it was transformed into a culinary haven in 1978, welcoming a bohemian jet-set that included luminaries like Freddie Mercury, Montserrat Caballé, and King Juan Carlos I.

Now, under the stewardship of the Anadon family, Sa Capella has undergone a meticulous restoration, preserving its historic charm while embracing contemporary culinary trends. The restaurant’s commitment to using the finest local ingredients and traditional cooking techniques is evident in every dish.

A Symphony of Flavors and Sensory Experience

The menu at Sa Capella is a celebration of fresh, seasonal produce. Imagine savoring locally caught seafood, simply grilled over an open fire, or indulging in succulent cuts of meat, seasoned to perfection and served with rustic accompaniments. A few of my favorites include the Sirvia carpaccio and Spanish Fillet Steak, served with farm-fresh grilled vegetables and rustic roasted potatoes with local rosemary and thyme. With every bite, a carefully curated explosion of flavors tantalizes your tastebuds, leaving you wanting more. The open kitchen adds a captivating sense of theater, allowing diners to witness the culinary artistry firsthand.

Beyond the exceptional cuisine, Sa Capella offers a truly immersive dining experience. Quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants on the island, Sa Capella’s ambiance is intimate and elegant, with exposed stone walls, an original olive wood statue, and the soft glow of candlelight. The carefully curated soundtrack adds to the enchanting atmosphere, creating a perfect harmony of sights, sounds, and tastes.

A Culinary Oasis

Outside, the palm-edged terrace feels like a private garden, offering a tranquil escape. The rustic cocktail bar invites guests to savor expertly crafted drinks that showcase the same passion for quality and authenticity as the food. The wine list is equally impressive, featuring a carefully selected collection of Balearic and international wines to complement the culinary experience.

Sa Capella is a culinary pilgrimage. It’s a place where history, tradition, and contemporary innovation come together to create an unforgettable dining experience — and the wait staff is just as exceptional, catering to your every need and making you feel as if you’re a long-awaited friend stepping inside their home.

Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or simply seeking a memorable evening, Sa Capella is a must-visit dining destination for anyone who appreciates a beautiful ambiance alongside quality cuisine.

Teatro Pereyra: A Symphony of Tradition and Innovation

Teatro Pereyra is a cultural gem that has recently undergone a stunning 16-year restoration. As it reopened its doors this year, the theater marked its 125th anniversary.

This historic theater captivates audiences with its unwavering commitment to showcasing local talent and preserving Ibiza’s cultural heritage, which is evident in every aspect of its “dinner and a show” experience. The warm and welcoming staff, many of whom are locals themselves, contribute to the theater’s unique charm to give you an authentic look into the island’s culture (and if there’s one thing that should convince you to go to an establishment, it’s that the locals choose to work there and enjoy the experience themselves!).

A Cultural Renaissance

Teatro Pereyra offers a unique dining and show experience where guests can enjoy a delicious meal with each course being served throughout the performance. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including local specialties and international cuisine, plus drinks that flow all evening long. The atmosphere is elegant, inviting, and oh so much fun, creating the perfect setting for a memorable evening with friends and family.

One of the highlights of the show is the opportunity to learn about Ibiza’s rich cultural heritage. The performers share interesting facts and stories about the island’s history, traditions, and customs, all woven into the show’s storyline. This makes the experience not only entertaining but also educational, and acts as a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the heart and soul of Ibiza.

A Night to Remember

My experience at Teatro Pereyra was unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. I anticipated a delightful evening of dinner and live music, but I was pleasantly surprised by the immersive and engaging theatrical performance that unfolded before my eyes. The talented singers, dancers, and actors seamlessly blended storytelling with captivating music, sharing fascinating insights into Ibiza’s history and culture, while portraying a fun and engaging 70s-themed spectacle.

The audience was actively involved throughout the show, standing up and joining in the singing and dancing of 70s hits from iconic bands like Queen and The Rolling Stones, creating a energetic and unforgettable atmosphere.

If you’re seeking a truly authentic and enriching experience in Ibiza, Teatro Pereyra is hands down a must-do. This historic venue offers a captivating blend of tradition and innovation, promising a night of entertainment for all. It’s no wonder Teatro Pereyra is a beloved institution among locals, and it has easily become one of my favorite recommendations in Ibiza. The restaurant’s commitment to using local ingredients extends beyond the food. Their innovative cocktail menu features unique creations like the Ibiza Sour, a refreshing blend of Spanish brandy, the island’s herbal liqueur Mambo Hierbas, fresh lemon juice, and cane sugar. It’s the perfect way to sip away the afternoon, soaking in the breathtaking views and perhaps spotting a celebrity or two (Cala Gracioneta is a favorite among F1 drivers, footballers, and world-famous DJs).

An Unforgettable Hidden Gem

The friendly staff at Cala Gracioneta ensures your every comfort. My wonderful waiter did an incredible job suggesting the best cuisine to try according to my tastes and recommending the must-try local dishes that ended up blowing me away, of course. While the food and drink are to die for, the astounding ambiance is truly the perfect side dish that creates the lasting memories. Imagine sinking your toes into the soft sand after a delectable meal, the gentle murmur of the waves setting the soundtrack for a perfect evening, soaking in the warm golden touch of the sun on your skin, and being surrounded by an elite crowd. Here, you really are stepping into paradise.

Cala Gracioneta isn’t just for casual dining though, it’s also one of the most sought-after wedding venues on the island. With its stunning location and expert, English-speaking wedding planning team, they’ll take care of every detail, ensuring your big day is as unique and memorable as your experience at Cala Gracioneta.

What to Know Before You go: Advice for Your Ibiza Adventure

Before you embark on your Ibiza adventure, here are a few helpful tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a party-filled nightlife, these tips will help you make the most of your trip to this Mediterranean paradise (and set you up for the ultimate girls’ trip).

Tips for Booking Your Trip:

  • Best time to visit Ibiza: The peak season in Ibiza is from June to August, when the weather is warm and sunny and the island is bustling with activity. However, the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn offer a more relaxed atmosphere with lower prices and fewer crowds. For those seeking a quieter experience, the winter months can be a great time to visit Ibiza, with fewer tourists and milder temperatures. However, be cautious that seasonal venues will be closed.
  • Booking your travel: Ibiza International Airport is the main gateway to the island, with numerous flights available from major European cities.
  • Getting around the island: Once on the island, you can easily get around by car, bus, taxi, or scooter. Renting a car is a convenient option for exploring the island at your own pace, while buses and taxis are readily available for those who prefer public transportation.
  • Renting a car: Renting a car is a convenient way to get around Ibiza and save time, especially during peak season when taxi lines can be long. Parking is generally not expensive or difficult to find. However, if you’re planning on going out clubbing at night, always designate a driver or use a taxi service.
  • Book accommodations and restaurants in advance: Ibiza can get very crowded during the summer months, so be sure to plan and book your reservations ahead of time.

Tips for Packing Like a Pro:

  • Pack for the weather: Ibiza enjoys sunny weather for most of the year, so pack light, comfortable clothing and don’t forget sunscreen.
  • Plan your outfits: Coordinating outfits with your friends can be a fun way to make memories and look fabulous while doing so. Don’t be afraid to experiment with bold, colorful, and sexy styles. Helpful Hint: Use a tool like Canva to plan a presentation of your outfits and themes for the group ahead of time. This will help you stay organized and get even more excited for your upcoming trip!
  • Pack the *essentials*: Don’t forget to pack plenty of glitter, gems, highlighter, colored eyeshadow, and statement accessories to add a touch of sparkle to your outfits, especially for clubbing (and all of your social media content, let’s be real). Always carry a fan in your bag to keep cool and comfortable during the hot Ibiza weather.
  • Comfortable footwear: Opt for comfortable yet cute cowboy boots for almost all of your looks to fit the classic Ibiza vacation vibe. We recommend avoiding wearing sandals when going out to the clubs.

Tips to Feel Like a Local:

  • Learn some basic Spanish: Knowing a few Spanish phrases can be very helpful when interacting with locals, and to also show respect.
  • Respect the island’s culture: Ibiza is a vivacious island with a unique culture. Be mindful of local customs and traditions to ensure a respectful and enjoyable experience for both yourself and those around you.
