Elba’s inspiration springs from her surroundings, particularly her relationships with family, friends, and peers, who are her “biggest inspiration.” Her entrepreneurial journey has been significantly shaped by mentors like her husband, Idris Elba, and her Chief Operating Officer, Emma Bates, who have both provided invaluable guidance and support.

“Idris has been an amazing mentor for me. He made me believe I could start on this path. He’s a massive dreamer and has shown me that anything can happen as long as you’re willing to put the work in,” she shares.

The transition from idea to execution was a monumental step that involved assembling a team aligned with her vision. This team has been pivotal in bringing S’Able Labs to life, demonstrating the power of collective effort in transforming a personal dream into reality. A particularly memorable moment for Elba was the brand’s launch at British beauty retailer SpaceNK, an achievement that stands out as a significant milestone. “I used to walk over to my local store before starting the brand and dream of being stocked on the shelves,” she recalls. “To see it actualized was really fulfilling.”

Looking forward, Elba is enthusiastic about expanding S’Able Labs into new markets, especially in Africa. This expansion aims not just to grow the business but also to nurture a global community committed to ethical beauty practices. The brand sources its “amazing A-beauty ingredients” responsibly from Africa, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing. S’Able Labs sets itself apart through its commitment to inclusivity. The brand designs products for all skin types and tones, ensuring that everyone can find something suitable. The products are crafted using clean, cruelty-free ingredients, and the packaging is designed to minimize environmental impact.
