After kicking off her birthday in a teeny weeny Gucci bikini and glimmering Cultnaked mesh tank top, Dua Lipa continued to celebrate her 29th year by dancing the night away in an avant-garde Dilara Fındıkoğlu gown. “Annual pilgrimage to the island to celebrate my next lap around the sun,” the songstress wrote as the caption while sharing a suite of photos posing in the look.
Wearing the British-Turkish wunderkind while in Ibiza was surely enough to capture the attention of sartorialists. However, it was Lipa’s surprising styling choice that truly piqued our interest. As pointed out by the satirical Instagram account @stressedstylist, Lipa chose to wear the piece inside out. The design, which opened the 33-year-old’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection presentation during London Fashion Week, featured strips of tulle-like sheer fabric held together by hook and eye closures.
But as Lipa wore the piece the wrong way around, the panels of crimson-red fabric spooled out like a train. Trust the Radical Optimism singer to find the silver lining in an intended wardrobe malfunction.
Lipa later posted images of herself salsa-dancing to a live band with her family and boyfriend, English actor Callum Turner. The remainder of her celebrations included drinking bottles of vintage Dom Pérignon, sipping orange wine and feasting on rigatoni alla vodka. As Lipa wrote herself in her latest post, “never not having fun”.
