The magical evening of November 20th at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City was nothing short of a fairy tale. Dior and Saks hosted an event to celebrate the launch of Dior’s Carousel of Dreams at Saks. This event, which also marked the unveiling of Saks’ much-anticipated holiday windows and light show, drew an array of luminaries and fashion icons.
The celebration began with inspiring speeches. Marc Metrick, CEO of Saks, and Delphine Arnault, Chairman and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, set the tone for the evening. Jennifer Lawrence, an Academy Award winner and esteemed Dior Ambassador, also shared her thoughts, the star wore a full look from the Spring 2024 collection which consisted of a white shirt, a pleated black skirt, and a long black coat with a belt. She accessorized with a black headband, simple jewelry, and black boots. Lawrence’s soft glam was by Hung Vanngo using Dior beauty.
A highlight of the event was the performance by the Martha Graham Dance Company. In a stunning display on Fifth Avenue, 60 dancers, adorned in creations designed by the Creative Director of women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories collections for Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Following the outdoor festivities, the celebration continued inside Saks. Guests were treated to an exclusive cocktail party at L’Avenue at Saks, where the ambiance was as exquisite as the company. The star-studded guest list clad in Dior looks included Rachel Zegler, Alexandra Daddario, Maya Hawke, Tracee Ellis Ross, Nina Dobrev, and many more notable figures, each adding their unique sparkle to the night.
This celebration marked the beginning of a stunning display that will run from November 20, 2023, to January 5, 2024. The façade of Saks Fifth Avenue is adorned with Dior’s signature motifs – the star, the clover, and Zodiac signs, around a magnificent Wheel of Fortune, a concept by Pietro Ruffo for the Dior cruise 2024 line. Each evening, this grand installation came to life with a spectacular light show, continuing the tradition of holiday season illuminations.
