AREA has quickly became an industry favorite with its unique lens on femininity, signature metalwork, beading/ embellishments, and its illusive take on glamour. The AREA embellishment—a sigil of the brand—is instantly recognizable, carrying over from collection to collection. From the crystal hairpieces and stitched coreseted blazers, to foldable chair bags and oversized butterfly earrings—this is a brand that plays to more is more, but in a refined way. For Collection 01 (resort 2022′), the brand, founded by duo Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk, explored construction of 1600s steel corsetry—creating cage-like corsets in strips of suiting backed by metal boning all with a slight fetish twist. The corset has become such a central anchor of the brand, and that continues right into resort; from a crystal cage “cropped” corset blazer, to a fuchsia, lace corset with crystal embellished boning.

Collection 01 also sees the brand push more into the duality of femininity, exploring lace and floral daisy motifs in a way that is distinctively AREA. The daisy makes it way into several looks—from a pavé open-back top in the shape of an oversized daisy and oversized crystal daisy earrings to jersey t-shirts with crystal lined daisy cutouts. With lace, they approached it in both a high and low fashion. From a hand-embroidered crystal and beaded lace motif inspired by vintage negligees rimmed onto silk evening mini dresses, to neon stretch-lace lingerie corsets and catsuits encrusted with crystal outlines.”She layers and clashes elements like tweed and neon lace and crystal – blurring lines between lingerie, swimwear and day wear; she’s in charge of her sensuality and style” says AREA via press release shared with GRAZIA.
