Alexa Chung has long been synonymous with the epithet ‘It Girl’, and for good reason too. Her style has been chronicled and heralded for as long as she’s been a fixture on the internet, with festival ensembles (twee but practical) to her front row silhouettes (always enviable) a template for her disciples to follow. Adherents of Chung will trust any and all endorsements from the tastemaker, including her latest: what she wears to a ‘Great British Sunday Roast’.
For the latter, Chung selected a new moniker, one she proudly displayed across her snug black tee in bold white typeface. Yes, even on her day off, Chung was making it clear that she is a ‘Career Girl’, as her shirt suggested.

The top is part of an exclusive collaboration with New Zealand-based label Paris Georgia and English conceptual artist Joe Sweeney. The limited capsule features a cropped baby tee with a feminine crew neckline and cap sleeves in off-white or charcoal and an oversized long-sleeve jersey in cherry red or jet black—each of which is an “an open club for passion, confidence and self-determination,” as the brand described.
Speaking to GRAZIA, co-founders Paris Mitchell Temple and Georgia Cherrie remarked that Chung is “the original career girl” and that this label is “a reflection of individuality and versatility, embodying the multifaceted modern woman”. So, what actually are the qualities of the kind of person Paris Georgia speaks of?

“Her essence lies in her approach to life: confident, empowered, and authentic,” Mitchell-Temple and Cherrie advise. “She dresses with intention, balancing elegance with practicality, expressing her many layers through timeless, refined pieces that adapt to her world.” It’s fitting then, that this is their design philosophy, crafting timeless styles that serve adept, chic and dimensional women with silhouettes that glorify the body and favour individuality.
Their muses range from Prime Ministers like Jacinda Ardern to reality stars like Kylie Jenner, but most importantly, encompass the everyday woman who just wants to feel good in what they’re wearing. “She doesn’t “look” one way because she represents all of us—she is diverse and ever-evolving,” the designers add. She also enjoys a cheeky pint at the pub, kissing rockstars and leaving behind love letters written by her boyfriends on cocktail napkins at bars, as Chung has proven.

Styled with a grey knit like Chung’s low-key mode or pieces from Paris Georgia’s new Resort 25 range, including a metallic ivory knitted shirt with fringe beading, cobalt satin trousers, a sheer zebra print mini and a delicious black blazer with contrasting velvet collar, these It Girls will make Career Girls of us all.
